Heritage Blanket - Complete!

This is the Heritage blanket from Oat Couture (don't you just LOVE that name?!?!?!). I made this with 1300 yards of Shepherd Colour 4 Me 8-ply yarn, which is 100% superwash wool. The detail doesn't show up very well in the photo with the off-white wool (and excuse the fold mark in the middle!), but it's so nice. I love this pattern and will no doubt make this blanket again and again. Whilst they advertise it as a baby blanket, it's perfect for a lap throw for anyone. It worked up quickly in just 8 days using a size 7US Addi Turbo needle. My finished size is 38" x 46", which is just right for a lap throw. This throw will be given to a person undergoing treatment at our local cancer centre. I've got lots more of this wool and I'm sure the hospital will be asking for more of these!

I love it! and I need the pattern, but when I went looking I am having trouble finding it. Do you have a source? We have a new baby girl in our extended family and I'm thinking this would be very pretty in pink.

Mari, what are you working on now? Also, what are your favorite places to buy yarn? Thanks for the info on the Heritage Blanket, I did order it.

Sherilan, I'm making another Heritage blanket, this time in chunky weight yarn (Wool Pak Yarns NZ 14 ply). It's not machine washable, but it's a special request for a wheelchair user, so I'm making another. And I've always got socks going as a portable project.

As for my favourite places to buy yarn, my first is my LYS. Actually, I have 2 wonderful LYSs each about 20 miles from me and I shop there first. I also buy from elann.com and Knit Picks as well as some eBay sellers (Cucumberpatch UK in particular). I enjoy the convenience of shopping online but also appreciate my LYS for offering me a hands-on experience and help when I need it. Gotta support the LYS!!
